How to Install a Motorola LCD Display

Motorola has decided to go for a flat 6.8-inch LCD display on this year’s Edge model. This is a bit of a departure from the previous generation, which featured a curved ‘Endless Edge’ OLED panel. Despite this, the LCD panel does a very good job of delivering bright and punchy colours, although it does veer towards the blue side of the spectrum.

Installation Instructions

The display has to be installed correctly in order to work properly. Please Motorola lcd follow the steps outlined below to ensure a successful installation. If you encounter any problems, consult the Answers Forum for troubleshooting assistance.

During reassembly, use a spudger to remove any remaining adhesive from the old display assembly. Clean the area with high concentration (at least 90%) isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth. Then, apply a thin strip of the precut adhesive tape, like 1 mm Tesa 61395, where the old glue was. Then attach the new display assembly.

Accessory Installation

Mount Motorola-approved accessories to the rear accessory connector located on the back of the mobile radio. Most accessories have female terminals crimped to a 20-gauge wire specifically designed to fit the plug of the rear accessory connector. Connect the emergency pushbutton or footswitch to pins 23 and 18 on the accessory connector. Do not use generic terminals because they may damage the plug.
